Still Life

I am very much drawn to figurative subjects, so my interest in still life is limited. However, still life subjects come without a modeling fee! Therefore, they are very economical. Moreover, it provides an excellent opportunity to further develop painting skills without the pressure of worrying about accuracy. A small error in precision or proportion can turn a portrait of a friend into a complete stranger, but the same error made to a flower still looks like a great flower.
